Ko'olaupoko Sustainable Communities Plan

We need your help with Choose Kailua's action for Week #7!!!

The Ko'olaupoko Sustainable Communities Plan (KSCP) is undergoing review by the City and County of Honolulu.  This is an important planning document that guides development in the windward region of Oahu. The language related to prohibition of big box stores - as inappropriate in scale and damaging to the economic well-being of Kailua's town center - must be strengthened. By sending this letter (click here) to the City's planning consultant (mail@townscapeinc.com) , we can show a number of people want this prohibition against big box stores to become part of the planning guidelines and development laws for Kailua (we suggest cc to DPP  --  info on the "CONTACTS" link on the right side of this page).

.
Once our comments are reviewed, recommendations and findings will be submitted to the Planning Commission and City Council for adoption by ordinance. The Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) administers the Development Plans which includes our Ko'olaupoko Sustainable Communities Plan.
